Beautiful Karen Jones you will be remembered forever

You were a wonderful woman, a loving mother, and an incredible influence on any one you were around. For the short year that we got to spend together, some memorable beach house vacations, a hannukah dinner, and two weddings, taught me what a warm-hearted spirit you were. You glowed with the light of love. From the moment I met you, I was comfortable around you. You welcomed me into your family with open arms and made me feel accepted from the get go. You didn't judge or question my righteousness for one minute. Because you saw your son happy and would love any one who contributed to his joy. You had me at hello.

My last memory with you was the Hedstrum wedding. We got to spend a morning together and talk about your cancer and how it affected Trevor and Kaitlin. You said some wonderful things that brought peace to my mind. Particularly, that Trevor had told you that he loved you more than anything and you had done your job. This brought a joyful tear to my eye. I see the light of you in Trevor every day, and I can confirm that you have done your job exceptionally. My mother always said you can tell the good of a man by how he treats his mom. Trevor cherishes you and if I can get half of that love, I am the luckiest girl in the world.

Your selflessness is inspirational. You said you want to be remembered in the light of Jesus, the countless friends and family members who came to see you at the hospital reiterated that your love was infectious. Karen,I know you are now with the angels above. I can not thank you enough for what you have brought to this earth in your short life. Without you, I would not know what the pinnacle of happiness is. You brought amazing people to life, you made people better, and you spread the love in your heart. Please know that you will be honored and remembered by all. I love your son and your family and I promise I will continue to take care of him as I have been...I love you, may you rest in peace. God bless you.

COACHELLA.

Imagine a place where grass meadows are covered in campsites as far as the eye can see. The sun is pulsing from dawn 'till dusk. Beads of sweat, non-stop. A giant ferris wheel is visible in the distance. Kids sit on top of vans swinging their beer cans and singing songs. Lovers walk hand in hand, rushing to see the next set. Feathers and fringe decorate hippies. Clothing is minimal and colorful. Water bottles and ice in your cooler, at all times. Molly, cocktails, beers, shots, cigs, bowls, laughs, pool parties, beats. To-Do: Frolick, rage, frolick some more. It was almost too good to be true.

It was 107 degrees, a record-high heat. The only part I could do without.

Our tent was a fruit roll-up, fits one person. Perfect for me and Trev.

Costco trip before-hand was imperative. The list included: crackers, crossaints, protein bars, apples, 2 loaves of bread (stupid), hummus, turkey, more crackers, and alcohol. 90% of this went untouched. Next time, leave the bread products behind.

We get there Friday morning, zero traffic, companion parking, unpacked and ready to party by 12 pm. 20 minutes of chill time, pass the beer. A couple of shots too please!! Time to party :)

By 1 we're walking to the Sahara tent with a group, time to see Beat Bots? Names aren't even important at this point, as long as they're good. This DJ supposedly had a cool, groovy vibe.

Next stop: Gary Clark Jr., Guitar extraordinare.

Camp site break. Meet up, re-group, hang out, take shots, back to the Polo Grounds! Feed Me, M83, Afrojack, and Swedish House Mafia, here we come!!

Sinister

It's October! Fall is here, say hello to cold, brisk air and longer evenings. Blankets, hoodies, and cuddles. Pumpkins, candy, and hot tea. Halloween, costumes, and Hard Rock Hotel. Anddddd... SCARY MOVIES!! Emily, Christina and I just saw what might be the scariest movie I've seen in the past decade. I literally had my eyes closed and my hands to my face the entire time.

The premise is a Ellison (Ethan Hawke) and his family move into a house where the family living in it prior was killed by being hung from a tree. Ellison is a writer so the purpose of his move is to write a crime story about how the family died and why the youngest child was still missing. While looking for evidence to write his book he finds a box of old film reels in the attic. The film shows footage of family murders, to give you an idea of what these were like: the first one involved a family being duct taped in and tied up in the car with chains around it just before the car was set on fire. Nice.

"A true crime novelist discovers a box of mysterious, disturbing home movies that plunge his family into a nightmarish experience of supernatural horror."

Ugh it's freaking me out just writing about it. The scariest part is when the killers face moves in the computer screen. HE BETTER STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM MY DREAMS TONIGHT.

Art

Knowledge is Power

I decided I'm going to learn something while I sit behind the computer for hours on end at work. I love art.. I love design... I sit behind a computer... Hmmmm... AHA! Graphic Design. I started reading tutorials on Monday and I can't stop. In fact, it is the reason why I have re-designed my entire blog. This could be huge... #Motivated.

Pinterest

Pinterest leads to bloggers leads to blogging about bloggers.

While Pinteresting like it's my last name, I came across this young lady who I found quite intriguing.

http://www.carolinegault.com/

She is a fashion writer that lives in New York and is as cute as a button. The pictures below aren't of her, but they are 100% stolen from her blog... I couldn't help it. LOOK AT THE CLOTHES!

And since Coachella is a month away, what could be more appropriate? Maybe a healthy soundtrack to accompany this post...

Let's hang out in the desert and drink, laugh, and be merry.

...Let's celebrate with a kick ass weekend, shall we?

Woke up today and went straight to the beach, solo, what? Long hair dont care!

Later in the day...

It just so happens that 90% of my friends have their birthdays in March (including myself). Little Hayde Georgakis is part of that fabulous percent. Naturally we celebrated the only way we know, drinks, food, and bad decisions.

At the party, Mallory and I had a heart to heart about how Aries and Cancer get along so well. I'm an Aries, she's a cancer, Jordan's an Aries, Trevor's a Cancer.

Not a believer in Astrology, per sue. But still interesting...

Oh, Mallory <3

Now let's get down to the bread and butter of this weekend, shall we? It was the first Wavehouse of the season. Jessica drove alllllll the way from LA just to experience it. Wavehouse = huge beach party with a premiere DJ and hundreds of people. Em let me borrow her cute little lacy top which put. me. in. the. mood. Started off with some cold ones at the boys house then mosied on down to the beach. Laidback Luke KILLLLEEEDDD IT. Literally kept me on the dance floor for 5 hours straight. Dancing with your boy behind you and best friend right beside you has to be one of the best feelings :)
